Thick and thin spiral yarn

This was the first attempt at a "Special effect yarn produced with a blend of fibers." I tried to do something very like what I see in the stores, big fat thick and thin yarn with a fine binder. The blue yarn is the silk/ingeo blend I wasn't quite happy with from before, but it looks nice here with it's slightly varying color and little white flecks. I was too close to the model, and it has all the same problems. Although it looks great now, the thick spots on that black Merino have so little twist that it will start to shed and pill immediately in any sort of real garment. I'm not big on "Art Yarns" that barely hold together.
